# Habitat

> Habitat is royalty accounting software for record labels, music publishers and distributors. It ingests statements from streaming services and distributors, works out what each artist, songwriter and rights holder is owed under their contract, and pays them. Labels use it for catalog and contract management, expense recoupment, royalty statements, and payouts.

Habitat is sold as three things: software you run yourself, a managed royalty service run by our accountants, and white-label infrastructure that carries your own brand.
